Cherokee Presbyterian Church supports the following mission works as we seek to further Christ’s kingdom in our community and throughout the world. The Missions Team maintains contact with our supported ministries and seeks to establish new opportunities as well.

Local Outreach:

  • HOPE Center: The HOPE Center is a pregnancy care center in Woodstock, GA. CPC has supported this vital pro-life ministry for many years. The HOPE Center provides pregnancy testing, information, and counseling to expecting mothers. Our members regularly support this ministry as volunteers and by donating requested items.

  • Judy Creamer: Judy serves the international community in Cherokee County and the surrounding areas through the Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship. Judy builds meaningful relationships with internationals by offering ESOL classes in addition to spearheading a new opportunity to connect with the international students at Reinhardt University. Judy also serves as a counselor at the HOPE Center in Woodstock.

  • Papa’s Pantry: This local ministry serves Canton and Woodstock by offering a variety of programs including immediate food assistance, employment strategies, and life skills through hands-on support and ongoing training. CPC collects monthly donations for the food pantry.

  • Riverside Community Church: Pastor Jody Stancil is supported as a church planter in Cartersville, GA. Riverside Community Church is a mission church of the PCA in the Northwest Georgia Presbytery. Pastor Stancil previously served as a pastoral intern at CPC, and he has been blessed to see great growth in his ministry in Cartersville.

  • Elderly Outreach: Cherokee provides opportunities to worship and serve at Brookdale Canton, a local assisted living facility. This ministry has been blessed to continue for several years. Several member families of CPC visit Brookdale Canton for worship on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. We are also blessed to provide a second worship service in the memory care unit as we seek to serve the elderly in our community.
  • RUF at KSU: Reformed University Fellowship RUF) is our denomination’s college ministry. Kennesaw State University is our nearest chapter and is led by Campus Minister, Wes Calton.

Global Missions:

  • Phillip and Rachel Baron (Philippines): The Barons have served as missionaries to the Philippines for over 30 years with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU). Their ministry has been very fruitful and God continues to work through them as they follow their calling to serve Him.

  • Jim Carmichael (Ukraine and Haiti): Jim Carmichael, a CPC member, serves through Teaching Missions International (TMI) in Haiti and Ukraine. Jim provides theological training for young pastors in both countries. CPC has been blessed to support his work in many ways including sending donated items to both Ukraine and Haiti.

  • Arabian Peninsula: CPC has supported a member family as missionaries to the Muslim world for over 30 years. Their work has largely been focused on building relationships that allow them to share the gospel with many Muslims in a variety of countries. They remain committed to see Christ’s Church advance and flourish in the Middle East, and we are blessed to support their work there.
  • Reformation Hope (Haiti): Pastor Jean Paul’s ministry in Haiti includes a church, orphanage, and medical clinic. CPC has supported this ministry for several years, and we have seen God’s hand at work blessing the ministry in Haiti. Several members have visited Haiti on short term mission trips, and the congregation has supported several projects in conjunction with Reformation Hope over the years.

  • Khen and Rith Tombing (India): The Tombings serve the Lord as missionaries in Northeast India. They have planted over 30 churches, established multiple Christian schools, and operate an orphanage.
