What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

Cherokee Presbyterian Church is a member of the Northwest Georgia Presbytery in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a denomination committed to the historic doctrines of orthodox Christianity.

We believe the 66 books of the Bible to be the only infallible and inerrant rule of faith and practice. We believe the Westminster Confession of Faith including its Larger and Shorter Catechisms to be the most faithful summary of the teachings of God’s Word.
Our Mission: (Acts 2:43ff)

To exalt the Lord in worship and prayer,
To edify the saints through discipleship and fellowship,
To evangelize the lost by word and lifestyle, and
To extend God’s mercy to the poor and needy.

Our Vision:

Cherokee Presbyterian Church, by God’s grace and for His glory, is a Biblical, Reformed, and covenantal congregation committed to making more and better disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ. We earnestly seek to worship and serve in obedience to the Word of God and in the power of the Holy Spirit to transform our community and culture for Christ and His kingdom.

Our Goal:

To Worship Well, Love One Another, and Engage the Community
We gladly celebrate the following great truths of the Protestant Reformation:

Soli Deo Gloria – To God be the Glory Alone
Solo Christo – Salvation in Christ Alone
Sola Fide – Salvation by Faith Alone
Sola Gratia - Salvation by Grace Alone
Sola Scriptura – Scripture Alone is Our Standard of Authority
