On Mission
Dear CPC Flock,
One of the main themes in 1 Peter has been, as a church, we are to be ‘on mission.’ God the Father was ‘on mission’ in saving sinners through his Son. Christ was ‘on mission’ as he went to the Cross and rose from the grave. The Spirit is ‘on mission’ to regenerate the elect (1 Pet. 1:3-5 10-12). And we, as Christians, are to be ‘on mission.’ We are exiles moving from this life to the next, and while doing so, we are to be Gospel witnesses (1 Pet. 1:1-2, 2:11-12). Our pursuit of holiness is to adorn that witness (1 Pet. 1:13-16). We are to live godly lives before a watching world, giving them the reason for the hope within us (1 Pet. 3:15). We are to do good to others, even if we must suffer for Christ (1 Pet. 3:16-17). But sometimes we need practical help with being ‘on mission. Here is a resource from Paul Trip, where each Wednesday in 2024, he focuses on an aspect of being ‘on mission. Learn, grow, apply, enjoy.
